MAJOR DISRUPTION TO CAIRNS SERVICES FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7

MAJOR DISRUPTION TO CAIRNS SERVICES FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7

  • 05 Oct 0

Sunbus Cairns will operate a reduced timetable this Friday, October 7 due to the Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) taking strike action for 24 hours.

Normal Friday services will not take place during this period to avoid jeopardising the safety of passengers with a service level Sunbus Cairns cannot guarantee.

Service routes 110 and 142 will operate hourly in both directions between 7am and 7pm.

The 110 travels between Cairns Central and Palm Cove, stopping at James Cook University and Clifton Beach.

The 142 runs from the city to Edmonton, stopping at Stockland Shopping Centre, Mount Sheridan Plaza and Bentley Park.

The updated timetable can be found here – Cairns timetable – Friday, October 7

Sunbus Cairns regrets the TWU’s action and apologises for the disruption caused to the community and citizens who rely on its services.

Passengers can monitor www.sunbus.com.au/cairns or www.translink.com.au for service updates before planning their Friday journey. They can also contact Translink on 13 12 30.
